Did you know?

lacquer bowl
Invariably our answer is that this is very unlikely. Lacquer was invented by the Chinese over 2000 years BC. Lacquer was originally a term for a cured process applied to a surface that dried to a hard durable finish with a sheen that ranged from matt to very high gloss.

High gloss kitchens in a range of exciting colours and finishes, bring light and  style to your home.

Finished in hard wearing decors, glass and lacquers you can choose from cool white through to a warm cream or a red glossy finish. Be bold or subtle, the choice is yours. Whatever colour you choose you will make the most of the available light with a reflective finish to your kitchen doors. High gloss looks particularly effective when teamed with some of our other finishes like carbon metalic, woodline or matt carcasses and doors.
This door style has been popular for some time now and this shows no sign of changing in the forseeable future. Using this material you can create a kitchen that looks modern, contemporary or even minimalist. You don't have to stick with one colour either. We have created some wonderful designs using different blocks of colour for different parts of the room.

Why do some high gloss doors cost more than others?

The difference in prices is mainly driven by the material used to manufacture the door. Broadly speaking, the more glossy the finish the higher the cost. High gloss kitchen doors can be made from melamine, vinyl, acrylic, gloss lacquer and glass in the manufacture of their gloss doors, melamine is the least expensive end of the scale
The quality of all of our kitchens is very high indeed so whatever your budget you can be assured that we can supply you with a range that will look fantastic in your home.

Gloss kitchens are much more hard wearing than many people suppose and generally speaking easy to keep clean. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough in most instances but we also sell specialist high gloss door cleaning cream. One word of caution though, whilst black gloss kitchens look fabulous they do require a degree of commitment on your part as they tend to show finger marks much more than any finish.

What's hot in high gloss kitchens at the moment?

Our best selling kitchen in 2011,2012 and so far in 2013 is a handleless high gloss kitchen in white or cream lacquer, but lately we have had many more enquiries for grey anthracite and champagne acrylic kitchens. Whether you choose to go for the handleless look or use one of the many handles we have available you can be assured that the finished product will look fantastic

We are often asked if high gloss kitchens will date or go out of fashion.

Some of the new kitchens for 2013 include ultra high gloss glass doors and new colours like warm stone and sand high gloss kitchen doors which are subtle and sophisticated.
The bowl on the left dates from the 16th century and is displayed at the Lakkhunst Museum, Munster, Germany. So, you see, it seems we are a bit like magpies, we have enjoyed shiny things for thousands of years. Why would you be worried about your high gloss kitchen losing it's attraction?
